This
4 day ecotour combines the best of Bahia´s natural attractions and ecocity
projects in four full days of
interesting visits.
Day 1.- WELCOME TO THE ECOCITY
Ecocity tour, lookout points, ecomarket and Miguelito, the Galapagos Turtle (96 year old resident of Bahia).
Tour of the water front in Ecotaxi (tricycle)
Lunch in Bahía or in the community of Porto Velo
Isla Corazón (community tourism project) Mangroves, board walk, video, mystical
canoe ride beneath the mangroves to see the bird colonies.
Dinner and night at Hotel - Bahia
Migelito, Bahía´s 95 year old Galápagos Turtle Day 2.- RECYCLING AND THE TROPICAL DRY FOREST
Breakfast in Hotel
Travel along the estuary; excellent views of shrimp farms, explanation of shrimp
farming and the organic production methods. Visit ecopaper; recycled paper
workshop, where paper is recycled with the addition of natural fibers like banana,
corn, etc.
Visit the second ecopaper workshop where the second part of the process takes place,
the creating of products, decorating & packing. See the craftswomen decorating and
creating 80 different products.
Lunch
Hike in tropical dry forest reserve, excellent views of Bahia .
Cross estuary to San Vicente, visit Santa Rosa Church- original and creative stained
glass and mosaic.
Travel to Rio Muchacho, accommodation and dinner.

Day 3.- RIO MUCHACHO AND THE MONTUBIO CULTURE
Optional animal feeding
Breakfast
Tour around farm to see tropical crops, permaculture, alternative technologies etc.
Make key rings from Vegetable ivory
Lunch and rest in hammocks
Short hike to a giant fig tree, interpretation of local flora and fauna en route.
Fish river shrimp.
Apply medicinal clay face mask.
Dinner
Chocolate making
Night in Rio Muchacho
Hike in the dry forest with view of Bahía behind Day 4.- THE ENVIRONMENTAL SCHOOL

Visit Community Environmental School,
Make rings out of palm seed or cups and spoons from gourd.
Lunch
Rest in hammocks
Finish craft work from the morning.

Horse trek to humid forest and to see howler monkeys
Lunch packed in banana leaves “tonga”
*Depart from Rio Muchacho
*Swim in the sea at Canoa
*Return to Bahía and farewell
